Global Semiconductor Supplier Promotes Embedding FancyPants™ for Advanced Graphics, High Performance Multimedia and Visual Effects

The combination will be demonstrated at ET Japan 2008 in CORE's booth# C-38, by Positive-One Corporation, November 19 to 21, Pacifico Yokohama. The event is the largest trade show and conference for embedded system designers and managers www.jasa.or.jp/et.

Target markets for the FancyPants platform include automotive, portable media, smart phones and set top boxes. Renesas and FST are working together to leverage SH7722 capabilities for next-generation intelligent devices with graphical user interfaces. Their strategic alliance benefits OEMs and ODMs with FancyPants' award winning “Wow Factor” and Ruthlessly Efficient™ runtime, enabling product differentiation, reduced product costs and faster delivery to market.

The FancyPants SDK provides a powerful and easy to use API, with an embedded runtime optimized for available hardware, including graphics acceleration and native CODECs. The Renesas SH7722 (SH-MobileR) incorporates SH4AL-DSP CPU core running to 333.4MHz, cache memory, VPU4, 2D graphics and JPEG acceleration, LCD controller, 5MP camera interface, touch screen interface, sound I/O and high speed USB 2.0, etc. The SH7722 supports advanced power management function, and satisfies the demand of both high performance and the low power consumption, for applications such as One-Seg capable car navigation systems, PND (Personal Navigation Device), portable media players and various display terminals.
